The Root of Righteousness
Week 36

A working faith is a saving faith. The person who is saved is active in the
salvation that is present in that person. The apostle James gives a good
explanation for the active faith we possess through Christ.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness – and he was called a friend of God.
James 2:23,24

Salvation is not a "set it and forget it" type of faith. Obedient faith was demonstrated by the action of Abraham. We also are to be obedient to the One who saved us, our God and Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Help us Lord to heed the Call to obey! Amen
