Godly Wisdom - 2016
Week Eighteen

He whose ear listens to the life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise. He who neglects discipline despises himself, but he who listens to reproof acquires understanding. The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility.
Proverbs 15:31-33

Listening is not easy to do! Our world is filled with noise. People speak constantly and we all want to be heard rather than listen.
It's even harder when we are in need of good advice but choose to not ask for it or listen to it when it is presented to us. The Proverb here presented tells the truth regarding wisdom and how it is acquired. The words "life-giving reproof", "discipline" and "listen" all describe the needed elements to receive true wisdom. If we choose our own path (self) we are rejecting the Lord's goodness and the best pathway. It all hinges on Humility! Beware of "pride."
Remember: Before honor comes Humility! If we truly fear the Lord we will seek His wisdom - His Word. Are you listening?
Help us Lord to put away pride and seek Godly wisdom by listening to Your counsel daily. Amen.
