Week Four - JEHOVAH ROPHE (RAPHA) -- The LORD Who Heals
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle. Psalm 103:1-5 David knew who to run to when he was in need. His illnesses of the heart and mind can be read in Scripture, along with his healings also. In Psalm 103, David blesses the LORD who heals, because he knew the only One who “pardoned him”. His willing confession gave birth to healing and hope. David knew what Moses meant when he sang these words given him directly from Jehovah Rophe: See now that I, I am He, and there is no god besides Me;
It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal, And there is no one who can deliver from My hand. Deuteronomy 32:39 APPLICATION: Healing can only come through Jehovah Rophe – the LORD who heals. True spiritual healing comes in confession of sin and salvation through Jesus Christ.
