WALK OF GRACE - My Spiritual Service of Worship
(Taken from the Walk of Grace Study by Sandra J. Mikler Davis)

December - Week 5:

As we conclude our study in the WALK OF GRACE for the year 2008, we have seen that as Believers in Jesus Christ, it is His Spirit that produces the fruit as we walk in obedience to Him.

"Straining and striving does not accomplish the work God gives us to do.
Only God Himself, who always works without stress and strain and who never overworks, can do the work He assigns to His children. When we restfully trust Him to do it, the work will be completed and will be done well. And the way to let Him do His work through us is to so fully abide in Christ by faith that He fills us to overflowing. A man who learned this secret once said:
'I came to Jesus and drank, and I believe I will never be thirsty again. My life's motto has become "Not overwork but overflow," and it has already made all the difference in my life.'
There is no straining effort in an overflowing life, and it is quietly irresistible.
It is the normal life of omnipotent and ceaseless accomplishment into which Christ invites each of us to enter – today and always.

PRAYER:
"I worship before You, dear Lord, as the all-wise Creator, the One who made heaven and earth and all that is in them, and saw that it was very good.
I praise You for the honor of being made in Your image, personally formed by You for Your glory, and gifted spiritually just as it has pleased You.
Thank You for each strength and ability and desirable trait You have given me. Surely You have been good to me, O Lord!
Thank You that I can enjoy my strengths and gifts without pride or false modesty as I give You the credit for them, praising You rather than congratulating myself.
What do I have, that I did not receive from You?...All that I am and all that I have comes from You; it is all sustained by You...and I want it all to glorify You! Not to me, O Lord, not to me, but to Your name be the glory."
(31 Days of Praise, p.58)

Next week will begin our 2009 study of The Names of God.

Blessing to each of you,

Sandra Davis, for the team at Women in Discipleship
