A Faithful Witness - Week Thirty-Eight Jesus, therefore six days before the Passover, came to Bethany where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. So they made Him a supper there, and Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining at the table with Him. Mary then took a pound of very costly perfume of pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. John 12:1-3 It is a lovely thing to see harmony in a home. The union of sisters and brothers who are in Christ working in harmony and ministry bring delight and blessing upon the Godhead. Mary, Martha and Lazarus are a good example. Their family history is amazing and profitable. They each demonstrate Godliness in their worship and their service. Mary listens (Luke 10:42), Martha confesses Jesus (John 11:24-27), and Lazarus invites Jesus (John 12:1-2). Their devotion to the Savior is timely and fragrant.
Their faithful witness rings through the ages as a testimony of love and gratitude to the Messiah. Family harmony in the Christian community is essential. To have a Christian family and a Christian community is a double blessing. I praise God for my Christian family and for my Christian community, each of you!
